Hawaiian Historical Prints Society is pleased to offer this rare opportunity to own vintage original authentic Hawaiian prints, which have been painstakingly reproduced from rare, highly collectible works of art. The artist, Jan Krane, has captured the authenticity and tradition as portrayed in the art from his own original collection. For many years Jan has been acquiring numerous original etching, woodcuts and engravings related to the Hawaiian and Polynesian Islands. These original 18th and 19th Century works are rare and highly collectable. Due to their rarity not everyone can own an antique print of Hawaiian history.

To provide art buyers the opportunity to own an original Hand-Colored Etching, Jan Krane has skillfully and meticulously reproduced stunning new etchings from the originals. Through new technology and the use of traditional intaglio printmaking techniques, the artist has created new copper plates; and with his etching needle, he has re-established an intrinsically fresh pictorial vitality to the etchings as the original artist had intended.

Each etching is hand colored by the artist, making every original etching unique. Jan Krane has done extensive research on Hawaiian and Polynesian Island history to assure the colors are authentic and in the island tradition. Each original etching is hand-pulled by the artist, numbered, and hand signed in limited edition of 175. Thereafter, the copper plate is canceled. All artwork are produced on acid-free Rives BFK heavyweight archival quality paper.

Etchings are 8 ½ X 11 inches with 2 inch margin, or 14 X 11 inches with 2 inch margin. All hand-pulled original etching will be accompanied by a certificate guaranteeing its authenticity.
